The Bible

Jesus
Jesus is the son of God. Born of a virgin, Mary, through God’s power, his holy spirit.

Jesus’ sacrifice
Jesus overcame all temptation and died as a sacrifice to save his followers from sin and death.

Acts 2:23-24

Romans 8:3

Jesus’ Resurrection
Jesus was raised from the dead by God. He later ascended to heaven but will return to set up God’s Kingdom on earth.

Jesus' Return
When Jesus returns he will raise and judge the responsible dead. He will give eternal life to those who have been faithful.

The Kingdom of God
Jesus will be King over the restored Kingdom of God.
He will reign over the whole earth from Jerusalem, in Israel.

Luke 1:32-33
He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.
Is 9:6-7
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder...Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore...

Death
When a person dies they cease to exist. The only hope of life is resurrection at Jesus Christ’s return to the earth.

Psalms 146:4
When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish.
Ecclesiastes 9:5-6
For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing, and they have no more reward, for the memory of them is forgotten. Their love and their hate and their envy have already perished, and forever they have no more share in all that is done under the sun.

Sin
Humans sin by going against God. The devil is not a supernatural being. It is another name for sinful human nature.

Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is God’s power by which he carries out his purpose.
